  1. I recently purchased a barebones kit from Newegg.com, which included an MSI 785GT-E63 motherboard, an AMD Phenom II X4 965 "Black Edition" CPU (boxed) with heatsink and fan, a Logisys 400 watt power supply, LG Blu-Ray Super Multi disc player and a Hitachi 1TB hard drive and a multi card reader for under $325, which is actually a steal of a deal.
I wanted to build a mid-level gaming computer that I could also future proof, and this was a very cost effective way to get in the right direction. The downside, I had never built a computer before in my life.
With a job and a newborn, this feat had also become impossible because of the lack of time required. I still had a few upgrade parts I needed for my system (graphics card and case fans) to obtain, but I was excited and wanted to get a start on it.
My friend, Brian, had stumbled over the FrOss site and read up on the overview, mission statement and the services offered. Being that he was close and appeared to have a high degree of technical knowledge and skill, at least the kind I needed at the moment, I contacted Chris. He responded very quickly with all of the details I needed to get the ball rolling.
I happen to live in St. Catherines, Ontario, so I got everything together and shipped it to him via FedEx, gave him specific details on what I was looking to accomplish and he set to work.
I found a great deal on a ATI Radeon HD5570 graphics card that I wanted to integrate into the system on Newegg.com for about $45 and had them deliver it to his address for the build as well. The case fans were shipped to him as well, purchased through EBay. 1 120mm and 2 80mm blue LED.
The build itself took about 5 days from start to finish and here is the end result, viewable on Photobucket.com:

I have ran this system to it's peak with Overclocking software (AMD Overdrive) and it's native clock speed is 3.2 Ghz. I have OC'd it up to 4.1 Ghz (stable) with no extreme cooling solution, just 4 fans in the case in a "push pull" path for air extrication. Mind you, this was a boxed processor with fully unlocked cores meant specifically for OC'ing, your personal results may be different. My MSI motherboard came with it as well, but the AMD OverDrive software is much more resourceful.
All in all, for the price and level in expertise utilized to bring this beast to life, I have to say that it was every bit worth it and if you have any kind of pc issues, whether buying new or refreshing the old, FrOss is the way to go. The experience was pain free, I knew every step of the build from start to finish and Chris was very polite and informative. I recommend him highly. Thanks again, Chris!!..=)

  2. Recently I had a computer crash and serious infection. I could not start windows without gettng the blue screen of death. My wife and I took the computer to a big box store and they told us the hard drive was fried, and that it would cost $125 just to retrive our photos!
I mentioned this to Chris at FrOss and he said he could not only retrieve our photos and videos, but, he also saved all of our bookmarks, our music too.
Three days later we got our computer back in factory condition, all of our photos backed up on dvd and the free software installed, we couldn't be happier. The amount of work put into our computer was more than we ever expected and the price was LESS than the $125 we were quoted before by the box store repair shop.

  3. For years like so many others I was bringing my computer to big box stores to have work done(most of that being virus removal)and was getting charged anywhere from $80-$100 again and again even though their technicians "supposedly" installed the latest and best in anti-virus/spy-ware. I was at the point where I was ready to throw the computer at the wall then I talked to Chris at FrOss,he cleaned it out for me no problem and installed the FrOss software package which I can honestly say is the cats a$$,its been almost a year and knock on wood to this day I have yet to encounter a problem. I was so impressed that recently I bought a barebones kit and brought it to Chris, so that not only did I know that the work would be done right but so I could get the software package again. After seeing the work Chris at FrOss has done I wont take my computers anywhere else and I recommend him to ANYONE and EVERYONE
